Lupio, Miranda rule Kadayawan run 2012


DAVAO CITY -- Early favorites Brian Lupio of Holy Cros of Davao College and Judelyn Miranda of Tagum City ruled the 21K race in the Delo Kadayawan Half Marathon held Sunday in an out and back course at the Genesis 88 in Ecoland West, this city.

According to a story written and posted by Lito Delos Reyes in the SCOOP Davao Chapter Facebook page, Lupio clocked one hour, nine minutes and 45 seconds to rule the men's division.

He was followed by Anthony Nerza at 1:10:59. Third was Gilbert Maluyo (1:12:38) followed by James Castillo (1:13:11), Elmer Bartolo (1:14:08), Juanito Mahinay (1:16:55), Joselito Dugos (1:18:48), Nestor Madula (1:20:36), Mario Esclaner (1:20:36) and Jonathan Pido (1:23:46).


The 27-year old Miranda, on the other hand, had a time of 1:29:50 followed by Brokenshire College's Cynthia Jaro (1:40:47) and Emily Avergonzado (1:41:00) as second and third, respectively.
Completing the 4th to 10th placers are Joy Mawalik (1:53:51), Virgina Tumapon (1:58:27), Karen Lou Macapagal (2:01:41), Cossete Plaza (2:03:08), Keilah Rodriguez (2:04:47), Tiny Bunaventura (2:07:10) and Marlyn Sales (2:07:35).

Sonny Wagdos and veteran Monalisa Ambasa shared the limelight by topping the 10K event.
Wagdos (33:11) topped the men's category followed by Arnie Macaneras (34:42), Jesmar Lopez (34:55), Mark Anthony Traya (36:47) and Azlan Tagay (37:59). Ambasa, a former national team member, clocked 42:07 followed by Celie Rose Jaro (43:03), Bethlouise Moralde (43:28), Vivian Avergonzado (47:10) and Gloria Mae Pastorin (56:44).

5K - Male - 1. Michael Constantino (16:28), 2. Rolly Paderna (16:28), 3. Michael Barrosa (16:29), Female - 1. Creselyn Jaro (19:59), 2. Diana Mae Memoracion (20:05), 3. May Baret ( 20:48).
3K - Male - 1. Marlon Moralde (11:19), 2. Jonel Rasay (11:20), 3. Kecir Abrigon (11:30); Female - 1. Pymie Rose Jaro (12:27), 2. Roselyn Depello (13:01), 3.Frencis Mae Dayon (13:38).
The race was managed by the Vantage Sports Promotions headed by Kenneth Sai.
