More than 100k in prizes awaits Kadayawan runners

According to an ariticle posted on the SCOOP Davao Chapter Facebook page and written by Lito delos Reyes, more than P100,000 in cash and other prizes will be up for grabs in the Kadayawan Phoenix ‘I Recycle’ Run set on Aug. 12 at the SM City Davao.

The article said that Beethoven Sur, marketing head of the presentor Phoenix Petroleum Phils. Inc. made the announcement at the weekly SCOOP at the Royal Mandaya Hotel held every Tuesday.

The champion in the 10K will earn P10,000 while the second and third placers will pocket P7,000 and P5,000, respectively. The top three finishers in the 5K will get P7,000, P5,000 and P3,000 in that order, while in the 3K are P5,000, P3,000 and P2,000.


In the 500-meter for children 12 years old and below, the first placer will win P2,000, second P1,500 and third P1,000. A cash prize of P5,000 will be given to the biggest school, NGO/Corporate and LGU delegations.



The registration fees are P350 for 10K, P240 for 5K, P150 for 3K and P100 for 500-meter with free race tee, race bib, snacks, loot bag. “Only the first 2,000 participants receive a Kadayawan Phoenix Run singlet,” said race director Tom Tan of the organizing Runman Racing.



Proceeds of this year’s event will be used for the rehabilitation of the Talomo-Lipada
s watershed, one of the two watersheds that serve as the main source of water supply in Davao City.



“For each one registered runner, we will also plant one tree in the 5,000 hectare land adopted by Phoenix,” said Sur.
This year’s race is co-presented by Pioneer Insurance in partnership with Davao City Water District, SM City Davao and TV5.
